I have some potatoes that I have boiled then frozen. Do I have to reheat them or can they be eaten straight away after defrosting.
I think they would be better cooked. The texture may not be firm like it should be for potato salad
As a general rule, boiled/frozen potatoes do not do well except in stews, soups or maybe casseroles.
Here is a clip from one site:
"To use these potatoes, don't thaw them, but boil them in water for 10 to 15 minutes or until tender. Don't overcook them. Use these potatoes in stews, soups, salads and casseroles."

I'd boil or cook them again before ingesting. The texture will have changes massively with a boil/thaw.
I have just found cold cooked spuds in the fridge. It looks like I'm going to have to throw them out as they have furry specs on them. Could I have frozen them? Thanks!:)
I froze some mashed potatoes after i realized I proably wasn't going to eat them anytime soon (shortly after making them) and when I defrosted them to eat, they were just fine
the freezer can sometimes mush food up, so they might come out mushy or whatnot, which is why as mash it was a good thing to do
Throw out those potatoes. Those furry specs are not supposed to be there. Potatoes don't freeze well, in general.
I make a hash brown potato recipe that calls for Hellmans mayo in it. I have leftovers. Can I freeze the leftovers?

It should be fine to freeze but the texture might change.
Can a baked stuffed potato be frozen successfully?
By Barbara
Yes, these can be frozen. The potato texture changes a little bit but with a stuffed and baked potato that probably wouldn't matter.

After freezing potatoes, they get yellow. What can I do to keep them white?

Some cooks rinse the potatoes in water and vinegar, then blanch prior to freezing. These steps will help keep the potatoes from turning black when frozen.
