Keeping Pets Healthy

To keep your pets healthy, always make sure they have their shots up to date, make sure there is always water and food for them, and give them baths once a week to keep them clean. Keep them away from fleas and ticks. Take them for regular checkups. If you love them, they will love you back.

I'd check with a vet before starting weekly bathing, because most pets do not need them. For some, a weekly bath will get them dry, itchy skin, and for double coated dogs, it can damage the insulating qualities of their undercoat. By all means bath your animal if it is really dirty, but for a most indoor animals, a good daily to weekly brushing may be better than a bath. My Pom gets a bath every six weeks or so, a trip to the groomer every other bath, a light brushing every couple days, and a good brush every week.

I have rescued, indoor dogs. They are on Frontline and Heartworm 12 months.

My Vet sends reminders for shots, but for baths, I do not agree with once a week. This should be done with respect to the breed and their environment.

I was bathing my dog every week and the vet said "stop it". He's an inside dog and probably gets a bath every few months at the most. Now people comment on how shinny his coat is. And he still smells good.l
