Safer Potato Peeling

So that you don't cut your fingers when using a potato peeler to peel potatoes, peel the rounded ends of the potato first, while holding the other half of the potato with your hand. Once you're done peeling the ends, peel the rest of the potato.

I been peeling potatoes for almost 50 years, and I've never cut myself with a potato peeler - they're not sharp! Are they different in other countries?

This comment made me laugh. I needed that. I grew up using a knife. Highly inefficient. Funny what you remember from childhood. I made a potato soufflé once and confessed to my friends that there was some extra protein added.

A chunk of skin off the top of my thumb. Potato peelers CAN give you a false sense of security. Hehe. I'm still giggling.
