Keeping Gift Receipts With Gifts

Stores now give "gift receipts" to enclose with purchased gifts of clothing to facilitate returns. It is very easy to misplace these receipts, so take a minute and staple the gift receipt to the tag on the garment- this worked wonderfully well for our family this Christmas.

Just say no to gift receipts! They are usually only good for exchanges, which keeps your money at the store, even if the person receiving the gift would prefer a gift from a different store. If a person is going to use the gift receipt to return an item, they are going to find out how much it costs anyway, so just give them the real receipt. Many stores will print an extra copy for you at the checkout.
