I want suggestions on decorating the outside of my kitchen door and surrounding area. This is on the front of the house and used as the main entrance.

Paint the door a bright color and pick up that color in flowers, curtains or something. Neat and tidy is the key to make a welcoming appearance. If the door has panels, use an accent around the panels, but do keep the panels the same as the door. If there are steps to paint, that might also add to the appeal as would painted flower pots, a chair and table on the ground near the walk. If you are painting only a few things, you can play with different colors. Have fun.
Add large house numbers to the middle of the door to easily identify your home and also to add some design to the entryway. If you have a large stoop you could add an old chair painted in a bright color and place a potted plant on top. Add a large painted clay pot and stencil or glue on large house numbers onto the front and fill with a pretty arrangement.
