Break Up Lumps in Dishwasher Detergent

A few weeks ago I bought some powdered dishwashing detergent at a discount/damage store that had been wet. I took this home and put it in a plastic bag and broke the lumps up with a hammer. It was a 7.5 lb box of Cascade and I bought it for a $1.00. It works great. Never let a deal pass you by.

Thanks for the idea. I have a box of Cascade that had gotten damp in our basement. I have been breaking the small clumps with my fingers, but a plastic bag would do it all at one time. Glad you got a good bargain!

Great way to save $$!
I've never found a detergent bargain like yours, but got a great deal on some gorgeous Christmas cards a couple of years back: I got a $12 box of cards for $2, because the plastic seal was broken. When I got them home and counted them, they were all there.
