Shaving Cream for Stains

Use shaving cream to clean furniture, carpets, rugs (not delicates that will easily fall apart) instead of having to pay to get it cleaned or buy new ones. Stains come out and it smells good too (not for deep stains).

Because of the ingredients in some brands of shaving cream I most certainly wouldn't recommend it near a wood finish when using it either :-(

Never, never do this! I work at a floor covering store and this does nothing but put dirt back into your carpet! Anytime you use something like this or like dish washing soap, you will leave residue in your carpet that actually attracts dirt to that spot first! The cleaning method recommended by the yarn institute (they make the carpet) is steam cleaning. Anything else is just a cover up.

Tip: Shaving Cream for Stains

To clean spots on carpet, upholstery and car floor mats, I spray shaving cream and rub it with a wet cloth. It cleans and leaves a refreshing smell.

Will this work on pet stains such as urine and vomit? (10/01/2008)

RE: Shaving Cream for Stains

Will this work with the gel type shaving cream that foams when you rub it, or just the regular type that comes out as foam? Awaiting your answer. (10/01/2008)

I have tried it on cat urine, wine, tomato sauce and spaghetti sauce.

I used both the gel and the foam one.

Hope this helps you. (10/02/2008)
