These taste like onion rings but are easier to make.
- 3/4 cup flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1 Tbsp. cornmeal
- 1/2 cup powdered milk
- 2 1/2 cups finely chopped onion
- fat for frying
Mix together the first six ingredients. Stir in enough cold water for a thick batter. Mix in onion and drop by tablespoonfuls into deep fat in skillet. Flatten patties slightly as your turn them. Fry to a golden brown.
