My favorite recipe for stale bread is French Toast Casserole. You need to prepare it the night before serving. My family loves it!

Ingredients

  • 5 cups stale bread, cubed
  • 4 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups milk or flavored creamer
  • 2 Tbsp. butter
  • 1-1 1/2 Tbsp. sugar or Splenda
  • 1 Tbsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract

Directions

Grease a 9x13 inch pan. Place bread in pan. Beat eggs, milk and vanilla. Pour mixture evenly over bread cubes. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Remove from refrigerator and let stand for 1/2 hour. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a small bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon. Dot breat evenly with butter and sprinkle cinnamon/sugar mixture over it. Bake 45 minutes or until knife inserted near center comes out clean.
