50th Birthday Ideas?

This morning I heard of someone who turned 50 and is celebrating by going to 50 places she has never been. I think this is a great idea! I can not afford to travel as she is. My husband did 40 miles for his 40th birthday. Does anyone have any ideas similar to these? I don't want to have the "typical" birthday party.

How about visit 50 places in your area that are free to visit...like a park, or store, or tourist attraction?

Or, there are neat random act of kindness card ideas on Pinterest. Make up 50 and give them out to honor your special day.

Or, plant 50 flowers...start the seeds inside and then in the spring you can enjoy your birthday again!

Blessings for your special day!!!!

Do a small gesture for yourself for 50 days and document in a journal. Example- Today on my first #1 day, instead of making of making coffee at home. I bought a specialty coffee with pastry!

Many people forget what is right there around them that they have always wanted to go and see but never did. Why not sit down and make a list of 50 things you want to do in a 50-mile radius of where you live and go and do them.

These could be as simple as going to a snack shop to try a new ice cream or something that you saw when you were out and always wanted to go back and try or see.

I know what I wanted to do at a milestone birthday (30...40...50... 60...) was to find that number of other people also having a birthday on that same day

It would have required a year of forethought, going on Craigslist, Facebook etc and asking "anybody else turning 50 on March 31st (for instance)? Let's have a huge party!"

then plan the party

imagine how marvelous to have 50 people who you barely know turning 50 alongside you!

anyway I always wanted to do that but never got around to it
