You will need to undress the doll to find markings. You can find them on the back, back of the neck, and the bottom of the feet. If there are no markings, there is a good chance that the doll was mass-produced and not worth much.

You may be able to find some type of marking, numbers or symbols on the back of her neck, back or body.

• As a general rule, a doll with no markings is not very valuable but that is not always the case.

• Doll collectors and appraisers may be the only people who can identify a doll with just a picture and then it would be difficult.
• You might want to ask for an appraisal as they might be able to give you some of the information you are seeking.
• If you decide to ask for an appraisal be sure to have several pictures, measurements, type of body/head material, and any info you have on where she came from (city, country) as this may help them identify your doll.
