This salad is refreshing and very tasteful. I have had this recipe for years and have no idea where I got it from. It is one of my favorites.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon jello
  • 1/2 cup shredded cabbage
  • 4 tsp. apple cider vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 cup diced apples
  • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans

Directions:

Dissolve jello in hot water, chill until slightly thickened. Combine cabbage, vinegar, and salt. Let stand 20 minutes.

Fold seasoned cabbage, apples, and nuts into jello. Pour into dish or mold and chill until firm.

This is a quick snack. Mix 1/2 block cream cheese to 3/4 cup (to taste) confection sugar, mix well. Chop apples into small bites (I prefer to leave the skins on).

Mix all together and it is so good. My friends and family always want it. Put lemon juice on apples at the start to keep them from turning brown. Enjoy!
