Take whatever chicken pieces you want and put them in the bottom of a 9x13 inch pan. Make cream of mushroom soup as you would for regular soup. Pour mixture on chicken. Cook at 350 degrees F until meat pulls apart. Drain and save soup.

Make noodles. When they are fully cooked, add saved soup to noodles. Let noodles and soup cool some as soup will thicken from starch in noodles. Add favorite veggie as a side.

  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • buttered bread crumbs
  • Shredded cheddar cheese (optional, place on top of noodles)

Set oven temperature to 350 degrees F. Boil the noodles for 4 minutes. Place the frozen veggies into the colander that you will drain the noodles in. Drain the noodles. Place the noodles and veggies into a 13x9 inch baking dish.

Mix the soup with the milk and pour over the noodles. Sprinkle with salt and pepper and stir. Sprinkle buttered bread crumbs on top, cover, and bake for 20 minutes. Uncover and bake an additional 15 minutes or until hot and bubbly.

I like to buy fried chicken from the deli at the grocery store, but I usually have a lot left over after dinner. So i cut the cold fried chicken off the bones while I'm cooking 1 1/4 cups of elbow macaroni until tender.

Then I mix the macaroni, chicken, 1/2 cup frozen peas and 3/4 cup mayonnaise. I put the mixture in an 8 inch square baking dish and sprinkle with seasoned bread crumbs. I bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes Until the top is browned. Let cool for 5 minutes then serve.

4 servings

Chicken Noodle Casserole

Frozen noodles? Never heard of such a thing. Maybe this is a regional item? (12/04/2009)

By OliveOyl

Editor's Note: Substitute regular dried egg noodles instead of frozen or fresh.
