The finished lampshade.A couple of months ago, I submitted a reupholstered chaise lounge to this website to put in the den. I had leftover fabric and so I added trim to this plain lampshade to coordinate it with the lounge. They look great together.

Total Time: 30 minutes

Yield: 1

Supplies:

  • hot glue gun
  • glue sticks
  • fabric
  • lampshade
The plain lampshade and some decorator fabric.

Steps:

  1. Measure the area where you want to add fabric. Make strips from fabric, folding in edge on both sides. Press with iron.
  2. Strips of fabric to attach to the shade.

  3. Using a hot glue gun, glue the edge of the top of the strip under. Glue to inside of the lampshade. Then, glue along both sides of the strip, working your way down the seam of the lamp shade. At the bottom, turn the strip under and glue to inside of bottom.
  4. Adding a strip of fabric to the corner of the lamp shade.
