Cracker Barrel Carrots

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 418 Posts

A side dish of carrots in a shallow bowl. When we eat out at Cracker Barrel, I get carrots. They are so good and I wanted to know how to prepare them. I found a recipe and tried it. It calls for 2 pounds of baby carrots but I cut the recipe in half and only prepare 1 pound when I cook them. This is not Cracker Barrel's recipe but it sure does taste pretty close and it's good.

Cook Time: approximately 50 minutes

Yield: 5-6 servings

  1. Place carrots in a sauce pan and cover with water.
  2. Add bacon grease and salt.
  3. Cover and simmer for 30 minutes or until slightly tender.
  4. Pour 1/2 of the water off and add butter, sugar and honey.
  5. Continue to cook until tender.
  6. Enjoy.

Sounds like a winner to me.
I'll have to try this soon.
Hope you and your family are all well and hope you have recovered from your surgery.

I love their carrots and I knew there was butter and honey in them but I would have never guessed bacon grease. Thanks for posting.
