My mower has been running with no problem. I stopped to get a drink and it would not restart. It turns over fine, but just never catches. Also, I noticed that it will intermittently backfire. The spark plug is fine and it is getting gas through the filter. Any ideas?

Carburetor,dirty or bad!!
I would check the carburetor and use fresh fuel.
The fuel lines are not clogged and you can see gas in the filter. This means that you need to clean or adjust the carburetor. Also, check the gas to make sure you have enough in your tank.
