Cure for Dry Skin

Silver Post Medal for All Time! 390 Posts

I have terrible dry skin. I am itching all the time, it is just horrible! I talked to my new doctor about it and decided to share her advice with all of you. It really does work and no pills!

  1. Do not take a shower or bath everyday, 2 or 3 times a week is plenty.

  2. Don't use soap unless you are really dirty, then only a moisturizeing soap, not bath gels etc. If you feel like you must use soap, only clean your underarms and personal area.

  3. When you shampoo your hair, rinse with your head down. Try not to get any shampoo or conditioner on your skin.

  4. When you are done, turn off the water and apply baby oil all over your body.

  5. Slip into a terry cloth robe. Wait 5-10 minutes, then get dressed.

  6. Twice daily, rub on lotion all over. I told her about the lotion I made and she thinks that is wonderful!

  7. Drink at least 64 ounces of water a day.
    My Lotion:

In a big bowl, combine 2 bottles of baby lotion, 12 ounce jar of vitimain E cold cream and 8 ounce jar of vaseline. Beat with electric mixer until blended (when it looks fluffy). Store in container with a lid. This make a lot of lotion for for $5.00 at the Dollar Store!

Apply olive oil to wet skin right after you get out of shower. Pat dry. Scent last only a moment and its an awesome emollient.

Also olive oil helps maintain elasticity in skin as well as lighten scars very well.
