Curtain and Carpet Colour Advice?

I have a silver grey draylon paisley patterned sofa with 2 chairs. I chose a red carpet, oh dear! What colour of carpet, in a small room, should I change it with? I would also like ideas for nice curtains to bring all the colors. I want to make it look like a larger room and also homely.
