Finding Free or Inexpensive Furniture?

I am in need of furniture. I am on Social Security which is less than a $1000 a month. It pays my bills with nothing left over. My health is not all that great. I really need furniture can you please help me?

I am so sorry to hear of your troubles. You will be in my prayers that you find solutions!! I think just by asking for help, help will come to you.

I have two suggestions:

1. Do you belong to a religious organization (church, synagogue, mosque etc.)? Some have discretionary funds that are used to help parishioners in need. It is all very private and no one needs to know. Perhaps they offer you some funding to help you get back on your feet and to pay for some nice gently loved furniture and someone to deliver it since that is going to be an issue if you have health challenges.

2. Since you have a computer and are posting here, have you considered setting up a Go Fund Me or like crowd sourcing pages?

They are fairly easy to do, you tell your story and ask for help. I know from first hand experience they work if you work to get the message out there using social media.

I have personally seen communities come together to help people, like you, who are in need. You could ask for money here but also tell people you need help with (list the specific furniture pieces you need) AND help getting them into your home.

Prayers for you and your family.

I would check with all of your local thrift shops, they usually have donated furniture that they sell at a very low price, most shops are too small to keep a lot of furniture, and in some cases if the furniture is worn or have soil marks they will give it away, all you would need to do is buy a can of fabric cleaning. Good luck, I hope your situation gets better !!

MY first go to place would be Craig's list. . Browse their free section often. I've found furniture, paint, even new Berber carpet and pad using Craig's list. All for free.
