I dyed my hair yesterday, unfortunately it has gone a very dark purple. I was wondering whether I can put my normal colour over to make it lighter.

Since you just dyed your hair, it isn't recommended to dye it immediately after again.

Do not dye again for two weeks. You could use a detergent based shampoo to tone down the purple.

If its permanent dye you put on, no. You will have to strip it. If it's semi permanent you will have to wait a few weeks to colour correct.
