How can I obtain a schematic for my food saver? A power surge burned a capacitor in the control board and I need to find out the value of it so I can get it replaced.

Go where electrical repair/replacement persons go: an electrical supply house. The one I used in Omaha Nebraska was Johnstone Electric. If you are near a larger town, check the phone book for others. That phone book is a wonderful information supplier.
When I had a problem with my FoodSaver, I called the company. They apologized for any inconvenience and sent me a new one. Great company to deal with!
