This is a delicious side dish that goes well with a rice.
5 cloves of garlic
1 head of cauliflower
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/3 cup water
This is a recipe I constantly get requests for. It is so simple yet delicious.
Cut the stem out of the cauliflower and cut into large pieces. Wash and drain off water. Set aside.
Peel the garlic. Then, smash each clove with the flat side of a heavy knife.
In a pot, heat oil over medium heat. Then, add garlic and sauté until lightly golden.
Add cauliflower, 1/4 cup soy sauce and 1/2 cup water. Cover pot with a lid and steam cauliflower for about 6 minutes or until cauliflower is soft. I like the cauliflower to break at the touch of a fork, if you like yours with a bit of a crunch, reduce the water to 1/8 cup and steam for 3 minutes.
Sorry but this recipe missed it's mark by including one bulb of garlic....it was so overpowering that it made us sick. I had to rinse and soak the cauliflower to try to use it again in some future recipe..perhaps soup. Unless I am interpreting the bulb to mean the entire bulb and not just a clove of garlic (but the photo seems to look like an entire bulb) it was just way too strong! And we really like garlic!
