Homemade Oatmeal Scrub

Bronze Feedback Medal for All Time! 146 Feedbacks

Be it for winter dry skin, sunburn or a rash, I rely on this concoction to give me hours of relief from intensely itchy skin. I grind oatmeal and dried rosemary leaves (1 cup oatmeal to 1 Tbsp. rosemary leaves) and store in a large mason jar until the time I need it.

When need calls, I put some of the mix into a small plastic container and mix with pure lemon juice until it's a pudding consistency. When showering or bathing, I don't use very hot water or soap because that makes the itch worse. Donning exfoliant gloves, I dip into the oatmeal/rosemary pudding and scrub myself down. The gloves remove dry skin and at the same time, I am able to give myself a good all over scratch without breaking skin. This works as well for me as any prescription or OTC creams, costs a lot less and is always at hand when I need it.
