Identifying a Porcelain Doll?

Identifying a Porcelain Doll - doll wearing a long with dress with ribbon rosesI found this doll at Goodwill for $2 with everything except her hat. (A steal I know.) I am now trying to find a the hat that goes with her and any information on her, such as her name as she did not come with her COA. She is by Menie.

So if anyone could give me any help it would be much appreciated. Thanks!

These are limited edition dolls that are mass-produced. You did get a good deal. The cheapest price I saw this type of doll on eBay was a little over $5 and the most was $20. These were asking prices.

That being said, once the run is over, the doll isnt made anymore. I dont think you will be able to get the hat.

You may want to contact the Alexander Doll Conpany in NY. They may be able to help you identify it.

Very pretty doll and at only $2 - hard to resist.
The Menie dolls are like most of the dolls that companies overpriced and mass produced over the last 50 years and this makes most of them fit in the "very low value" category.

  • I hope you like her and have a prominent place to display her as she will probably be an "attention getter".
  • You will probably never find a hat but she looks nice just as she is.
  • She looks tall but you did not mention her size but no matter, there are always places to stand a pretty doll.
  • There are a few Menie dolls presently listed for sale on eBay and some look similar to yours (hard to judge without a size). You can take a look but you may never find an identical doll listed.

  • If you are interested in their value, you might want to place a watch on one or two just to see if they sell (but be aware that dolls are usually slow sellers and may stay listed for years).
  • Of course current value can only be judged by what a doll sells for and not what it is listed for. You can also check eBay's sold listings.
