This looks very much like a silverfish or water bug. They come into the home from the drains in your bathroom. They are horrible and should be taken care of. A simple way to get rid of these is to put out sticky tape like they use to trap flies with. They will crawl on the tape and then you can just pick up the tape and throw it away. Other people find if they put out cedar or cedar oil this till get rid of them and keep them out of your home.

Hello,

I agree that this is a midge. I have looked on the internet and found a picture of one at this site. I think this most closely matches your photograph.

Here is some information on the biting-midges.

I have found that apple cider vinegar, and water, (1/2 vinegar, 1/2 water) is helpful for so many no-see-ums.

I have also ordered some Skin So Soft Bug stuff with SPF from Avon. I am going to use that to see if it works.

We get bit a lot when we go outside. We live in the middle of a huge wooded area. We get all the bugs!

Have a great day!

Hi,

Now that I look closer, this looks like the leg from another bug.

Not sure about this as you cannot tell even the head from these pictures.
Are these inside or outside?
Are they in water drops? Sprayed and dead?

Where are you finding them? Just seeing one or two?
Do they fly? bite?

Maybe with a better picture and more information someone can help you.

You can always send pictures (with more information) to your county extension agency and they may be able to help you as they are familiar with insects in your area.
