Identifying a Stuffed Bear?

Identifying a Stuffed BearI've been looking for a replacement for a 2ft tall purple teddy bear that I got for my first or second Christmas in 2001 or 2002. It was all purple with black eyes and a purple ribbon bow on the neck. It was my one and only comfort item. It got very very dirty and my mother decided to throw it out. In the pictures, it sort of shows the tag and I'm wondering if anyone can help me find another or maybe tell me what brand it may be? Sorry if the pictures are low quality, they're the only ones I have.

Thank you.

You can try at the teddy bear site. They have all sizes of teddy bears. I do not see one that is the deep purple that you have but they are similar to yours. www.giantteddy.com/.../

The tag looks like it may be the brand Nanco which is a US company that makes plushies. (I wish I could see exactly what the box says--although it looks like the toy may have been put in a box from something else--that would have been the easiest find if the box was what it was).

Anyhow, here is their phone number, maybe they can look at the photo and confirm it is their tag: 1-800-528-5599

If it is, then you can do various searches on eBay and Etsy and Google in general to see if you can find one that is new with the tag (or ask if they have any new old stock they can sell you from their warehouse--can't hurt to try right!!).

Unfortunately if the tag is gone, the searching is going to be harder as may sellers have not a clue what they are selling (either year or brand) so you may need to search 24 inch purple bear (you can set up a Google alert so every time one comes up, you can check it out) and go through each one until you find a match. That is like finding a needle in a haystack unfortunately--it can be done, but takes extreme patience!

I hope you find what you are looking for. It is hard to lose a special childhood toy.

Prayers for finding it!
