Have you thoroughly checked over the whole plow, including the under side of the seat for any kind of makers metal name plate or engraving? So many plows like this were made by many different companies over the years. If there is an Agriculture Museum near you, you could take photos to them to see if they can at least narrow it down for you.

Good Luck, and report back here what you find out...if you'd like....we would all like our curiosity cured !!!

it's really difficult to tell exactly what you have as each picture only shows part of the whole so please can you post a couple of pictures of the complete unit?
Stand back far enough to get the complete unit in one shot. S full side shot may help also.
I'm sure some people have some ideas but extra pictures may get you better answers.
Thanks - very interesting unit.

I'm sorry but your pictures are confusing to me as it looks like you might have 2 seats?
Please post a picture of the full machine.

This is a hard one to say, looking at the pictures ,some of the parts of this plow looks newer than the rest. Maybe through out the years some parts needed replacement.

You would have to contact a professional to get any info , if you do not have the maker/brand name to help with the search.

From 1837 to 1870 all the walking plows were made from steel and John Deere was the manufacture of these plows. Your plow came after 1870 because it is a ride-along plow. This plow was pulled by a team of two horses most of the time. A lot of farmers only had one horse and that was what pulled this plow. I am not sure if John Deere made this one or not because there is no marking on the plow and it is hard to tell if they did or not.

The ride-along plow gave the farmer much better control when he was plowing his fields. You can see the level on this, that was not for a break but to lower and raise the blade at the back when plowing the fields.

Without better - full - pictures it is difficult to know what type of farm equipment you asking about.
It is a plow for sure but there is probably more that we cannot see.

You might want to post a full picture on these sites as someone always answers with information. You'll have to join the groups.
