Jello Didn't Dye Hair

My daughter recently asked to color the ends of her hair. A friend of hers had used Jello successfully so we decided to give it a try. I researched it online and found a method that combined Jello and conditioner, making it into a paste. We followed the instructions exactly, my daughter has very light blonde hair, and we left it on her hair for over an hour. When we rinsed it out there wasn't even a hit of color! It was a waste of products and time. :(

NOTE: We had success with Kool-aid. Click here to try it!

I did everything perfectly. Watched atleast 7 sucessful tutorials. It didn't take AT ALL. I used store dye for half my head pink. You can see it a little in the picture. And i used BLUE jell-o to make tbe remaining bleached ends blue. Nothing. The best part? I left it in for 6 and a half hours!!!! I slept with it in from 2am to 8am. Rinsed it out with only water in the shower and its still pink in some parts and BLONDE. Not a drop of blue stayed. Very displeased with the results and i will be returning to the store to purchase blue hair dye i guess.
