Kenmore Ice Maker Won't Dump the Ice?

My Kenmore slim icemaker makes ice, but will not dump it into the bin. The little button inside does not make it go into motion to dump. I am wondering if anybody knows what's the problem? I have only had the fridge for four months. I tried to call Kenmore or Sears; what a joke no wonder they are closing their stores.

You can void the warranty if you start trying to fix it yourself. I would write them a registered letter saying that I am going to contact the Better Business Bureau if you don't hear from them within 3 days of receiving the letter. This usually works very well.

First off, you don't send a "registered letter". That is for sending intrinsic items (jewelry, etc.). For this you would send a "Certified Letter w/Return Receipt. That means, the receiver has to sign for the letter, that receipt is then sent back to you; this is your proof they got it. It is going to take between two and five days before you hear from them. It has to go through several processes before it gets to the right department. Then the issue has to be evaluated, someone in product development has to look into the problem and find out if this has happened before, how often and what was done to make the correction.

This alone can take at least 2-3 days. (It's not like they are just sitting there, waiting for your letter.) Once the problem has been identified, and a correction has been determined, that department sends the results back to Customer Service. Customer Service then sends a reply to you. Depending on where you live, that could take 2-4 days by mail.

Kenmore and Sears should help.

I bought a Kenmore Waffle Maker and had problems, they gave me a new one. They said Kenmore has 2 year warranty for all their products.

Four months? They MUST help you. Like Judy says, contact BBB. I have done that before and was helped immediately.
