Kitchen Paint Color Advice?

I am wanting to repaint my parents' kitchen since we will be moving in to take care of my dad. The counters are yellow and the backsplash is as well. It is a brick house with some wood grain. But I don't know what color to repaint the walls. They are a dull yellow right now, but I don't want to have to go yellow again. Any suggestions?
