Kitten Has Runny Eyes

My six week old kitten has this green gooey eye booger stuff in his eyes and every time he closes them they stick shut. I've been cleaning them with a paper towel and warm water. It helps a bit, but then I have to clean them again. I don't know what to do or what he has. Help?

You can use triple antibiotic ointment (not cream) in the cats eyes. Use it 4 times a day. It is better than nothing, but a trip to the Vet would be best. If not treated this can cause blindness.

The triple antibiotic won't hurt the kitty's eyes?

The green pus & runny eyes are clear indications that your kitty has an eye infection. Please take your kitty to your vet for a proper diagnosis and medication to relieve the pain and irritation, and cure the problem.

Please do not delay as your kitty is suffering and may pick up another infection as her immune system already weakened by the eye infection. She may also lose her sight if the infection continues.

Get a warm rag with green tea to clean it's eyes. Go to tractor supply store and buy Terramycin eye ointment. It's 15.99 a 3.5 ounce tube.

Do you put the triple antibiotic directly in the eye? My baby is three weeks old. Also any suggestions on fleas stuff. They're very young. Besides just Dawn.
