Making a Wonder Box?

March 3, 2007

Does anyone have a pattern for a Wonder Box? They are heat-retaining food cookers. They look like huge bean bags with a spot to put a hot saucepan in.

sort of... the way it was described to me, you can boil water with soup, for example, and then place it in the "wonder box" and it will continue cooking for up to 2 hrs.

Carrie,

ourldsfamily.com/wonderbox has a pattern, sewing instructions, basic recipes, and directions for using the Wonder Box.

I haven't used one yet but will make one soon, and so will several friends. We are looking for a good, thrifty source of polystyrene beads - hopefully with a quantity discount.
