My Boxer Won't Eat After Being Spayed?

We had our 4 year old female Boxer who was spayed a week ago. She only eats some canned food, but not her hard food. She just lays around and sleeps. She does drink water and goes out take care of her business and comes in and sleeps. How can I get her eat her hard food and be more active?

Has she been back to the vet for her follow up? I would just in case something else is going on. I am guessing, however, that she is just the gal on the slow part of the bell curve of recovery. Some pups pick right back up on their full activities the next day and some take a little longer.

What I would check is that none of her teeth were damaged during the anesthesia (intubation) and make sure her throat was irritated during that part of the procedure...that is possible just like in people, and that may be why she only wants the soft food.

That she is drinking, pooping and peeing is great!! I would me more worried if she wasn't doing that. Double check with the vet and post back with an update! Prayers for the pup!! Thanks for being responsible and getting her spayed!! Blessings to all!!

I had my 1 year old GSD baby girl spayed 2 weeks ago today and I have done everything I was told to do by her Vet and I have been having trouble still with her eating? The day after the surgery I picked her up and they informed me that she didn't want to eat for them. I brought her home and she was on pain meds but she threw up so I stopped the pain meds. She has gotten very picky on what she wants to eat she went 2 days without eating a single bite of food, then we added raw meat to her kibbles and she ate then we tried the kibbles and canned wet food she ate one meal then refused that. I have offered her so many different foods and some she ate then refused again. I finally bought her Freshpet by the dry dog food in a refrigerator and she seems to like it.

Her energy is normal ( German Shepherd have extremely high energy this has been a battle trying to keep her calm ) she drinks her water and she poops but I see that she has lost weight ( she was 75.4 lbs the day of surgery) I called the Vet back today and
I will have her weighed again theyy are having me bring her back in to check her? I am 100% disabled and she has panic attacks and vomits in the car rides this is going to be a very stressful car ride IF I can even get her in the vehicle I am a Christian and I do believe that all creatures are from God and I am praying for everyone on this forum and their fur babies.

I would call the vet. You want to make sure she has no infection. The not drinking concerns me more than the not eating.
