Non-stick Finish Came Off George Foreman Grill?

My husband has scrubbed the grill and taken the non stick finish off. Is there anything I can do?
Thanks in advance.

If your grill plates are able to come off, I would suggest seasoning them with oil just as you would a cast iron cookware. Look on the internet for how to season your cookware. If they dont come off, then get some nonstick Teflon repair spray to recoat your grill. Mine come off, so I prefer to use oil so as to avoid the chemicals in Teflon. Good luck!

Throw it out or buy replacement grills. It is not safe to use when the finish is peeling off.

i agree with Judy; I do not believe it is safe to use your grill in that condition.

  • The non-stick is placed on metal and that metal may not be safe to cook on.

  • I would either replace the grill plates (if possible) or throw it out and buy a new grill.
  • Here is a link to the George Foreman support center. You can ask your question here and if parts are needed, they will help you with that.

I would replace the grill parts that are damaged. This is very unsafe to use them and cook with them now. You should be able to find the replacement parts on the George Foreman website.

I have not have this happen to my grill, but I looked online and it does look like others experience this as well. Some tips you can try are:

  • Cover the damaged plates with heavy duty aluminum foil & use cooking spray.
  • Purchase replacement parts.
  • If you recently purchased the grill - you can/may have warranty, so you can check that too.
  • Or, it might be easier to purchase a new one. Depending on the model you have, some are reasonably priced at ~ $15. I saw one at Walmart the other day on clearance for $8 but I already have the Jumbo Foreman Grill.
