I just tried using the hair dye Brilliance dark amethyst and it appears to have just turned my hair black. I was looking for a vibrant colour you can actually see. Should I buy another one and see if it works? And can I try to re-colour it on the same day?

If it was permanent dye, deep-condition weekly and re-dye in a month. If it was semi-permanent, you can re-apply when you want to.
If it was permanent, you can't do anything about it but have it lifted/removed. If it was semi, go for it!

I wouldn't try the same color it will be the same.
Step 2
I would use a different color,but wait 6 weeks.
