Re-dyeing Hair After a Botched Dye Job?

I've had black hair (dyed) for a couple years now. I waited about 2 months since last time I dyed it to go to a salon and bleach it to a middle brown tone. The stylist told me black bleached to red and wouldn't be able to do a dark ash brown as I wanted because it wouldn't lighten enough. She bleached it and the roots turned so white she said she had to put some red tones back in it to achieve brown.

After it was all done, my hair has at least 3 different colors and it's all splotchy. It looks like a botched attempt to have hyena hair. It's a bright reddish brown at the top, yellow blonde in some areas and the roots and then a dark wine brown in other areas. I'd be fine if it was at least even, but it's too bright and even lighter then I'd originally asked for! I wanted a dark ash brown and somehow ended up a mix of reddish blonde and brown. How long do I have to wait to dye it again to a darker color, so at least the color is even?

I'm not sure why you didn't go back to the salon and ask to get it fixed. That being said, enough time has gone by for you to dye it again.

If money is an issue, go to a beauty school to have it done.

This is me, because I envy people who have the courage to color and style their hair. I am first to admit I have no courage and therefore I have been wearing the same style for...hmmm...more years than I care to admit. Now it is just graying and the same style...

So I always admire the folks who can carry off a new "do"...my honest and heartfelt suggestion is to consider turning the "mistake" into a fashion statement. When I see women and girls with unusual hair tones, I am get a tinge of envy, especially because they seem to have so much confidence!

I say go with it and show it off. If you absolutely hate it...then think about getting it fixed....but I say flaunt it! No one but you needs to know it was a mistake!
