Receiving Social Security Survivors Benefits?

My spouse died on April 4, 2017. Will I get a benefit check for him for the month of March?

Your check received in April will be for the month of March so, yes, that check should be yours to use but if you receive a check for April (in May) then that money is not yours to keep and will have to be returned.
Social Security benefits are not that easy to understand but here are a couple of links dealing with this subject;

If you are referring to the checks he was drawing then there would not be one issued for the month of April. But if you are referring to if you can draw one off of his account as widow benefits, that is a different story.
