Restoring dull finish. Depending on how severe the damage is use the following:

Step 1
Paste wax

Step 2
Tung oil

Step 3
Fine grade sandpaper moistened with lemon oil.

I have had moderate luck with the mayo solution detailed here:

patch.com/.../tricks-for-restoring-wood-furniture...

I learned it from my nana YEARS ago when I inherited her wooden furniture. She swore by it!!
