Repairing a Steam Mop?

Thane H2O X5 steam mop. The tubing inside the unit has split. I need to know the type and size of tubing to be able to replace it. Thane just tells me I need to buy a replacement mop. Not an option.

There should be screws that you can remove to expose the tubing. Hopefully you have a friendly neighbor hardware store to help you.

Apparently you have already contacted Thane and they were no help.
I no longer have one of these but can you see the tubing?
Can you take it apart to replace it?

If there is any way to see the tubing I would suggest you take your steam mop to either an auto parts store or Ace Hardware and ask them for help.
I believe someone at either of these places will be able to help you figure a way to repair it and both of these places usually have tubing in all sizes.

You do not have to go to autoshops , just go online to any online shop and look for silicone tubing 8mm outside diameter with 2mm wall thickness, giving an internal diameter of 4mm, you can get it in any colour you wish and is normally sold in 1 mtr lengths. they are all high temperature.

I am in the process of stripping down yet another H20X5, my wife loves them especially as we have tiled floors and grandchildren. They have all failed after 1 year. I have searched the web looking for an informative instruction site to no avail. So I am thinking of doing a complete diagnostic page for these machines. I am a retired electronics engineer so should not pose a big problem
