Repairing the Trim on a Vinyl Fendi Purse?

I have a vintage Fendi bag made from a vinyl material and the trimming is damaged. Can it be replaced?

Many years ago Fendi purses were guaranteed for a 'lifetime' and you could ship the purse to them and they would repair it and return it for a very small fee. Of course, that is no longer the case but you might try contacting them and ask about repairs. This would be expensive but you would have a 'new' purse when returned.

Since it is a Fendi purse it may be worth the expense of having it repaired but unless you have a custom shoe/purse repair shop in your area it may be difficult to find someone with expertise to do this.

Sometimes a high end dry cleaners has a seamstress that can do miracles with almost anything so why not make a few calls and see what they tell you.

I would take it to a shoe repair shop.

I would call them:

646-952-8399 (Mon-Fri, 9am-9pm, Sat 9am-6pm, Sun 9am-6pm EST)

If you are going to use a local shoe maker/cobbler, be sure to read their reviews first and select one carefully. We had a bad experience not long ago with one. If we had just read the Yelp reviews we would not have used them.

Yes, this can be replaced and that is not a problem. However, if you try to do it yourself it could damage your vintage purse. I would find a local shoe repair shop or taylor shop in your area and go to talk with them. See what they recommend.
