Replacing the Motherboard in a Janome Sewing Machine?

I have a Janome 12000 that needs a new motherboard. Is it worth fixing?

It depends on the cost of the repair versus the cost of another machine. Also take into account the age of your machine.

Since you know that your machine needs a new Motherboard ( called circuit boards I believe) do you also know the number board?

You will have to find out the cost of the board and make your decision from that information as we have no way to determine what condition your machine is in other than needing a new board.

Also, what type of accessories you have and weight that against the cost of the same machine or if you would want to have a later model.

Here is a company that sells most Janome parts so check this out (if you know the number of the board).

Hi I just replaced the motherboard on my Janome 11000. I could not do anything with the machine the touch screen lit up but there was nothing on the screen the only things that worked were the led lights and they never shut off. Does your machine turn on does the screen come on with the icons on the screen?

if so it may not be the motherboard it could be other things could even be a loose connection on the motherboard.
I bought my motherboard at. sewingpartsonline.com
It cost me $519 I didn't know if it came with a program on it ready to go or not. my original motherboard was version 1.3 this 1 came with version 2.1 so I am further along.
I notice a few different things are on the machine now with the new motherboard. It's not hard to change the motherboard but if you are not comfortable with unplugging about 20 different small plugs and ribbon cables and don't want to bend any pins on some of the connectors, I would ask around and see if somebody would put the motherboard in for you for a price. Even somebody at a computer shop that fixes computers could do this. The hardest part for me was taking the covers off of the sewing machine to get to the motherboard. Like I said though if you have buttons lit up and your touch screen is lit up with the icons on there I don't think it's your motherboard.
