Riding Mower Won't Start?

I have a Poulan tractor. It is not starting up from the key, but is starting up when I try it directly from starter after removing the kill wire. But when I again put the kill wire on its place it turns off. Everything else is OK. So is it the solenoid or the clutch switch? Please help me.
