Speedy Stovetop Lasagna

It will soon be too warm to do much baking, especially if you can cook on the stovetop. It's easy and speedy and so yummy!


Total Time: 30 minutes

Yield: 8 to 10



Speedy and you won't have to heat up the kitchen!

  1. Brown ground beef in a large, deep skillet. Stirring to break it up and until brown.
  2. Stir half of the pasta sauce into the meat. Break noodles into strips and put on top, then cover with the remaining sauce.
  3. Fill empty pasta jar about 3/4 full with water and add to skillet (about 2 cups of water) Stir to combine.
  4. Bring to a boil, then reduce to simmer, cover and cook for about 25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Add cheese to top, "do not stir" again. Cover and cook about 5 minutes more, until cheese is melted.

So good and easy. Enjoy!

I have made this many times. It is good with Italian sausage too. I like to fry the ground beef with some Italian seasoning to season the meat. Italian blend shredded cheese works well.

I don't understand why you put half the tomato sauce with the meat, than the pasta followed by the tomato sauce and water mixture and you stir everything!


Should it be that the water tomato sauce is mixed separately and then put on top of past sheets? Or do you cook the pasta with the meat and tomato sauce first?

I'm confused.
