Spicy Bok Choy Side Dish

This is a quick and easy side dish you can whip up with minimal ingredients. Pairs perfectly with any rice dish or soup.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Yield: 4 people



  1. Wash bok choy throughly and peel off leaf from the stem.
  2. Chop 2-3 cloves of garlic and add your desired amount of gochujang.
  3. For your seasoning - combine sesame oil, sugar, water, cornstarch and soy sauce and stir all ingredients. Set aside.

  5. In your pan, add olive oil with chop garlic and gochujang over medium heat and mix quickly.
  6. Add bok choy to your pan and stir fry for about 1-2 minutes.
  7. Then pour your mixture and stir fry for a minute until cooked to your desired bok choy texture liking.

This looks and sounds delicious! What would you substitute for the red chile paste?


I've never seen this in any of the stores I shop, so maybe I can sub something Tasbasco?

You should be able to find chile paste at any large supermarket. The brand I buy is made from the manufacturer of Sriracha and basically has the same flavors, but is chunky. So I would recommend substituting Sriracha instead of Tabasco.
