Straight Stitch is Jumpy?

Straight Stitch is Jumpy - straight stitch out of alignmentWhen I am sewing a straight stitch a stitch will jump sidewards about every 10th stitch. It doesn't seem to matter the thickness of fabrics being sewn together either. Thick or thin, it does it! Help please! It makes top stitching look ugly.

Nancy's Notions has a stitch guide. I have it. It keeps the stitch straight. Sometimes the fabric is slippery. In that case you need a walking foot. Nancy's Notions has that as well
