Test Batteries with a Multimeter

A multimeter to test batteries.I was able to get a free digital multimeter with a coupon at Harbor Freight store. With the instrument, I can check batteries for voltage. You don't have to wonder anymore if a battery is good. I was throwing away batteries and they may have been still usable. Also I can check small flat batteries used in car remote controls and wrist watches. It saves buying new batteries if you don't have to.

I think I may have one of these gadgets in the garage... good to know. Are there certain batteries that it might not work on? ie: rechargeable batteries? Thanks for the helpful tip.

I think it will work on rechargeable batteries too, at least the classic AA ones. It probably doesn't work for lithium ion batteries for computers and devices like that.
