Value of Conant Ball Credenza and Hutch?

A wooden credenza with doors and drawers. This was my late aunt's set. I would guess '50s? But I really don't know and everyone in my family is gone now so I have no one to ask. I'm wondering what it's worth? I'm moving to TN and trying to figure out if I'm taking it or not.

I would guess by the style, 1950s-1970s. I was not able to locate the exact pieces in any of the old catalogs, so I was not able to pin it down.

While Conant is still highly sought after in many markets, two things re key to to the high values. One is style and this style is more of a rustic farmhouse style vs. the mid century modern/clean lines that are highly sought after. The second is if was signed by Russel Wright, which yours is not. His pieces can command a lot in auctions (not eBay--real auctions).

The value will depend on your market. Values are regional and something that would fetch thousands in New York city may fetch under $100 in my market, and vice versa.

You could call around and ask at local resale shops how much you would pay to buy this set--that will be retail. You as an individual can expect to get 1/4 to 1/2 of retail selling it on your own.

If you do sell it on your own advertise it as a vintage, slatted front, Conant Ball Welsh Cupboard Hutch and small Credenza Buffet Sideboard it will get attention.

Start high and take best offer. Post back how your sale goes!

This style will probably only be attractive to a very small group as 'Farmhouse' style is at a low point right now but, being Conant Ball and if in good condition, it will probably sell if listed with good pictures and descriptions.

I would not expect any furniture to sell quickly but then again, sales are very unpredictable.
Where you are located will have a big influence on the final value as these items will most likely have to be listed as 'pick up only'. Your area may be into this style and willing to pay a good price or it may not care about brands and look at these as 'just old wooden pieces'.
I could not find any even similar sold pieces so no luck with 'sold value'. I did find a few somewhat similar pieces and it constantly amazes me how sellers use the 'Russell Wright' name so loosely. But it seems that most of this type of seller rarely shows a picture of the Conant Ball Russell Wright marks.
I believe you could take good pictures and post your pieces (individually) on several sites (not eBay unless you are an experienced seller) and start the price high - accept offers with pick up only and see how it goes.

If you are in a hurry to sell then offer low prices but you may be better off to take these to TN with you and make a decision about selling from there.

This is a brand that has kept its value. It is really expensive. You could get at least $2000 for it.
