Value of a Mersman Table?

I have a Mersman table with the number 8614. I was wondering what it is worth?

This is worth, from what I have seen, from $75 to $100.

It is usually best to post a picture with your questions about Mersman furniture as very few people use the numbers to identify the pieces.
There does not seem to be a list available that shows Mersman numbers in relation to the piece of furniture so everyone generally goes by a picture as well as a style in doing any type of research.

  • It is possible that I was lucky and found what your #8614 might look like. This is a listing from 2013 and there is no indication the table was sold or if it was sold there is no mention of any amount.

  • If this is like your table you would have to do your own research over a period of time as you cannot determine a value by using "similar tables".
  • You can research eBay and Etsy (even Amazon) for your table but it may never show up on any of these sites so you may have to use Google also as there are a lot of "private" auction going on all the time.
  • You can research "sold" items on eBay to see what is selling (the most popular table seems to be the "harp" style tables but end table in good condition also sell but usually in a lower amount.

  • Your table seems to be in a lighter wood style so it may be a little more valuable right now.
  • Here are tables presently listed on Etsy but it is difficult to see sold items as they only show those listed for a few days (eBay keeps sold items listed for several weeks/months).
  • I believe in appraisals as you can generally gain a lot of information as well as a general value. I say general as they may give you an "insurance" value which will be higher than a retail value but it is still good information.
  • True value will depend on the brand, style, age, condition and area the table is located in. The area is important because shipping would be very expensive and so this type of piece would generally be listed as "pick up only".

  • Here are some links to free appraisals but you will need several photos as well as a photo of the Mersman label and any information you may have about the table.
  • Local sale sites like Craigslist or USA4Sale are the best sites to list items like this as there is no shipping involved and you can ask a higher price and reduce it if no one shows an interest.
