Value of a Vintage Dresser?

Value of a Vintage DresserAny idea how much this dresser is worth? There is a spot where the tag used to be, but no other markings. The drawers are dovetail construction, if that helps.

This gorgeous! Waterfall style art deco dresser from what I can see. Value depends on where you are located. The can sell from as low as $25 to $2500 depending on the supply and demand in your community.

This was pre-virus. Now is not the time to try to sell pieces for safety and financial reasons.

When the economy returns check with a reputable antique dealer in your town to see what the new world value will be.

Also have them verify it is a true vintage or antique. It looks to be, bt there are many repro pieces out there made to look out. That will play into value also.

Thank you for the info! I doubt I will sell it anytime soon if at all. It is actually being used as a functional piece of furniture. (Still works great).

I am sure it is an original...found out it was my great grandmother's dresser and I am 58 so it is old.

Without a lot more to go on it is difficult to search for this dresser online. The value of your item is determined by the area you live and the price another person has sold a similar item for. I would wait around 6 months or a bit longer until the economy has stabilized before gong to an vinatage or antique dealer in your area.

They would be the best person to ask for the company who made your item and how much it would be worth in your area.

Wow, this is a lovely piece! It's to bad you do not have more info . It's design and carvings are in excellent shape. To get a value/worth on this piece, I would take your pictures to a professional antiques dealer for the history before the piece. They will know along with some key questions!

Very unusual but seems a little 'bulky' for the art deco styles to me but since I know very little about furniture styles I could be all wrong.

Pghgirl did mention 'Waterfall' but I had some waterfall style pieces a while back and my research seemed to be the waterfall claim to fame was all about 'rounded/curved' ends and this one seems(?) to have a straight edge top.

You may be able to get some information if you present your information to one of the free appraisers as they would know all about this style even if there is no brand name. They will not always give a lot of information if the item is not worth at least $500 but I think they may help you.
If you decide to do this, you will need several good pictures - full pictures of front (not pieces), full back, full sides, inside drawer and bottom of drawer or they may not be able to help you.
If they can help you, they will provide a tremendous amount of information about the piece and usually an insurance value but they also will provide the best place to sell your dresser should you decide to do that.

You can ask for help at more than one to see the difference in information. Hopefully you will find what you're looking for and post back to share information with us.
