My dog is 4 years old. I adopted him from the shelter a year ago. He is 16 inches at his withers and weights 27 pounds. On his birth certificate it states he is an English Springer Spaniel and on his shelter papers it states he is an English Cocker. I am hoping he can be determined one or the other or both (then dubbing him a Sprocker Spaniel)! He has a brown and white coat.

The people at the shelter just guess breed based on appearance. As my vet pointed out, if you've ever seen a litter of mixed breed puppies, you know how different dogs with the same parents/heritage look. I would be more inclined to believe the birth certificate since they at least saw the mother.
Looks like a springer spaniel to me.
